What an Amazing Month!
Posted on May 2nd, 2018

yH had an incredible month, with 5 site visits, and 2 fundraisers! Students went to Dublin Bus, DCU, Aer Lingus, Cathal Brugha Army Barracks, and Facebook offices!

A huge thanks to students, Ciara, James, and Uman from Smurfit Business School who helped organise and run "The Soul Brothers" gig on the 19th of April, as it was a huge success, raising over €2,000 through entrance, raffle tickets, and donations.

Also, to Yvette from LinkedIn and Pauline Cooley from ReikiMeath for the "Women Empowerment Event" on the 7th of April, an incredibly encouraging and empowering day spent discussing our lives and how we can empower others. Hopefully we can continue on the Empowerment programme with the Women's Mini Marathon in June!
Students from 4th, 5th, and 6th year of St. David's CBS were invited to tour Facebook offices on Grand Canal Dock. Students ate lots of sweets, discovered the different benefits of working for Facebook and learned about all the different career options within the company.
On one of the hottest day of the year so far, students from Blakestown CS and Trinity Comp were introduced to life on an Army Barracks where they received a military briefing and explored the weapons display in the courtyard. May be some budding soldiers in our mix!
Boys from St. David's CBS were lucky to get the chance to grab their passports and go view some Aer Lingus planes, sit in business class seats, and view engines up-close. Students learnt from an engineering apprentice, a pilot, and cabin crew about the many careers in Aviation.
